laceblade: Meelo of Legend of Korra, fists raised, mouth open. Shouting "JAILBREAK!" (ATLA: Meelo jailbreak)
There's not much too this post, but I was thinking lately about how much of my consumption is done through subscription now - both digital & mail packages:
Netflix, Crunchyroll (which now includes manga!), Sparkler, GwynnieBee, ipsy, Give Us This Day.

Am I missing anything good? Thinking about adding Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet but idk how often they come out with new issues lately...

The Honey & Clover DVDs are gorgeous! The casing is gorgeous!

I'm a bit bothered by the subtitle choices.....throughout the show, the characters usually refer to each other by surname, as is common for the Japanese. However, even though the characters, when speaking Japanese, refer to each other as Morita/Yamada/Takemoto/Hanamoto/Mayama, the subtitles keep translating it, so that it seems as though they are referring to one another with their given names, Shinobu/Ayumi/Yuuta/Hagumi/Takumi. Why would they change that?!

Anyway, now is a bad time for me with consumerism. I had to choose between Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2, NANA DVDs, and Honey & Clover DVDs. I ended up going with Honey & Clover, obviously. It was the cheapest one. Still, I feel like I have betrayed the other two. Shows! Why are you all released at the same time?!

I won't go into spoilery-depth, but I will say that I'm working on catching up on Fringe, and am liking it. Olivia Dunham is pretty bad-ass. I love the autumnal New England-ness of it, and I love the opening song that's played on piano/sleigh bells. The plot is becoming surprisingly rewarding to its audience, and I didn't think that it would be.

For thoughts on Dollhouse, I'll direct you to [livejournal.com profile] aycheb here, and [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore here.

Righstuf has a pretty bitchin' 90% off sale on select items going on right now.

There are some DVDs I've already decided to buy for sure, but I'm having difficulty deciding what else to buy. There are three series that come to about the same price, and I'd like to get one. But I don't know which one!

Cut for those unable to help! )

Okay, Internet. I decided not to purchase anime I haven't seen before! So I went with Last Exile as the main series, bought one DVD of Trigun, and then snagged one of the remaining two Evangelion DVDs I need. This will be a happy box! Princess Tutu for Steph, and Witch Hunter Robin, Last Exile, Evangelion, and Trigun for me.

It's been a pretty stressful week overall, which is why I haven't been blogging much. It's just one thing after another in a parade of Sucktitude.

To ignore all solvable problems, I'm going shopping because there are some clothing items I need. I don't think I can make it through another winter with my current shoe-boots. Unfortunately, I would like some really cute ones.

Is anyone else dying to get a pair of Oxford pumps? I keep seeing them in stores and think they're adorable. I think Antoine finds them hideous.

I hope to relax with books, manga, DVDs, and blogging this afternoon and tomorrow. Hopefully passing time with friends will be nice as well.

I've just been feeling really wiped, all of the time. Even reading seems to take a lot of effort, not to mention writing, which I haven't done at all in the last 3 days, :( There's no way I'm reaching 50,000, but I'm hoping I'll keep working on this story.
