Scandal, aka: a TV show written specifically FOR ME

THIS SHOW, LAWD, THIS SHOW.

I finished catching up with Revenge yesterday after running some errands and thought, "Oh, I should start watching Scandal because it sounds like it's right up my alley."

FYI: ONCE YOU WATCH THE ENTIRE PILOT OF SCANDAL, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP UNTIL YOU GET ALL THE WAY THROUGH ALL 7 EPISODES OF SEASON ONE.

The show is like the early seasons of The West Wing, it's what I wanted from The Newsroom.
It's like watching Grey's Anatomy but I haven't yet seen 9 seasons of these characters, haven't yet started to know them like old friends.
The characterization, the storytelling, THE CLOTHING, everything is fucking flawless.

God, Joshua Malina I have missed your face. You are so awesome.

MELLIE.

CYRUS'S HUSBAND.

ALYSSA.

Huck is my favorite, likely surprising no one.

But this is a Shonda Rhimes show, so I actually like everyone, ever.
Also, is it really disturbing that I CAN TELL that every scene that takes place inside a hospital is on the Grey's Anatomy set?

Fic Update

I've had a pretty sluggish October, writing-wise. Other things going on, mostly.

Tonight I wrote, though. I'm now at 40,435 words written this year. (My goal for 2012 is 75,000 words.)
I've said for a while that this goal feels attainable to me because I didn't start writing until June, so my pace hasn't been as bad as it could have been.

Still, now it's November and I have 34,565 words to go, so I really need to step it up.

Luckily, posting chapter one online and receiving feedback has given me lots of good feelings.

Today I finished my draft of chapter three and started chapter four.
It feels a little weird that I'm unsure how many chapters this fic will have total.

B T W, I have it on authority of littlebutfierce that this fic is "fun and exciting" even if one does not know the canon. CONSIDER READING IT?!
