Friday afternoon meme-age
This meme taken from Claudia and Kell.
1. What was your first car?
It's STILL my car. '98 green Chevy Lumina. Referred to by one of my friends as "The Luminator." It's at home, though, as cars are basically useless for students in Madison (no parking, everything is within walking distance/excellent bus system that happens to be free for students).
2. What was the name of your first pet and why?
Snoopy. My brother named him when he got him for his First Communion - He was named after Snoopy, from Peanuts. His middle name was Linus.
3. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A ninja turtle and a writer.
4. What was the name of your elementary school?
Pioneer
5. Who was your first best friend?
My first one? Probably Maggie.
6. Are you still friends today, and if not, what happened?
It's one of those relationships where we'll always be friends, despite not talking too much any more. Her house is still across the street from mine. We just kind of grew apart after elementary school.
7. What was your favorite board game?
Currently, "Diplomacy." It's like Risk, only the actual world, just prior to WWI.
8. Did you play house or other make believe games?
Yes. Chad and I had elaborate cities in our backyards, run on currencies of pine cones.
9. Were you a Dungeons and Dragons geek?
No. I never heard about it until some time in high school. Apparently my brother was, though. He has a bunch of die and books (remember my brother is 12 years older than me).
10. Did you sleep with stuffed animals as a kid?
Yes. I may or may not have 3 puppies, a Sailor Moon plushie, and a Tuxedo Mask plushie here with me at school. And a Hello Kitty pillow.
11. Do you still sleep with stuffed animals?
See above.
12. Who was the first person you looked up to when you were younger?
Laura Ingalls Wilder
13. Who was your favorite relative?
Awww, I can't pick stuff like that. They're all pretty awesome.
14. Were you short or tall in elementary school?
In elementary school? Medium, I guess. Definitely short now. I never realize it until I'm forced to line up according to height and then I think to myself, "Shits, I am short!"
15. Were you teased in school?
I'm not really sure how to address this. I can't remember people ever teasing me to my face, but that's because I never took any shit from anybody. So if somebody was like, "Oh, you're such a geek!" or "Jackie, why do you READ during recess?!" I was usually pretty quick and sharp with my retorts.
16. What was the name of your favorite teacher?
Mr. Heck (most of my math), Reina (most of my Spanish), Bunk (20th century history and AP history), Fischer (Physics, even though I detested that class)
17. What was the name of your least favorite teacher?
I never really cared for most of my teachers, nor the way children are treated in schools in general. There were very, very few that I disliked as people (limited to middle school and elementary school teachers) - when I say I didn't care for most, I mean as educators and not as people.
18. What was your best subject in school?
English.
19. What was your worst subject in school?
Math, I guess, although I was pretty good at that, too.
20. Did you do well in Physical Education?
I was always either the last or second-to-last kid running the mile. I'm not obese or anything, either. Just not athletic at all.
Except when we played Lacrosse. When we played lacrosse, I kicked ass and took names. Look out when you put a stick in my hand, yo. I become a lethal weapon.
21. Were you clumsy when you were younger?
Not really, although I have the tendency to trip on the sidewalk when walking around campus these days.

23. What was your favorite movie as a kid?
The Lion King, Milo & Otis, An American Tale, Star Wars.
24. Did your parents read to you?
Yes, until I discovered that I could read by myself. Mom was then exiled from the room, and...well, I haven't really stopped ever since then.
25. Did you have a favorite book?

41. What was your first kiss like?
The first one was painfully awkward because it came out of nowhere and I wasn't expecting it at all...but he was my boyfriend so it was okay. The next one was better, :) Unfortunately, he's the only person I've ever kissed, which means that it's been a long time since I've kissed anyone!
