OMG BOOK MEME

I nicked this from claudia and ann.

1) What are you reading right now? Dracula by Bram Stoker, Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales, and the first Cross manga

2) Longest book you’ve ever read: Les Miserables

3) Strangest title of a book that you’ve read: I Believe in Water

4) Stupidest ending of a book you’ve read: Probably Castawys of the Flying Dutchman. But that entire book was the stupidest book I've ever read, so you know....

5) Which literary character have you related to the most? Laura Ingalls Wilder or Caddie Woodlawn

6) Do you prefer fiction or nonfiction? Fiction

7) Did you have a series of children’s/young adult books that you once enjoyed? Oh, I have many! But if we're saying true childhood, I'll have to go with Little House on the Prairie, Redwall, and Star Wars (expanded universe stuff).

8) Can you enjoy reading the source book after seeing the screen adaptation? Very much, yes.

9) Have you ever read a novelization of a movie or TV show? I own Final Fantasy...haven't read it yet, though. I still have a bunch of Dawson's Creek books that may or may not have been read many times, ;) I own the novelization of Star Wars, Episode I as well. I think that's it...

10) Book that "turned you on" the most, erotically speaking: I don't think I've ever read anything particularly erotic in books....

11) Is there a real-life person that you’ve read more than one book about? Bill Clinton, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Jesus

12) Book that everyone’s read but you: Can't think of anything!

13) Favorite "classic" writer/novelist: SHAKESPEARE, omg I love him

14) Favorite contemporary novelist (let's say 1950's on): J.R.R. Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, Philip Pullman, C.S. Lewis, Brian Jacques, J.K. Rowling....Dude, they're like, all British.

15) Favorite short story writer: Neil Gaiman ('though I must admit I don't read too many of these)

16) Favorite columnist/journalistic writer: Blech

17) Favorite poet: Longfellow. I fell in love with "Evangeline" when I was 12.

18) Favorite guilty pleasure book or series: Animorphs

19) Favorite book by written by a famous actor or musician: I don't think I've read anything by any actors or musicians....

20) Author whose work you once enjoyed but no longer do: Can't think of anyone.

21) Favorite comics/graphic fiction author: Neil Gaiman, Naoko Takeuchi, the various authors of Hellblazer (Constantine)

Ooh, I read Dracula last summer; it was so good! It was kind of embarrassing to carry it around with me, though, because it was one of those ninety-nine cent paperbacks with the hokey picture of some goober prancing around in a purple cape on it.

Hah, that's awesome. My copy from the library isn't too bad - Count Dracula just looks all badass and brooding on it.

Hmm, I think I've only read one decent Hellblazer writer...

Hehe, we should keep in mind that I've only read 'All His Engines,' some short stories, and a couple that I read in Chicago at Borders....which I think were 'Dangerous Habits' and the one that comes before that - the very first one. So maybe once I've read more and can compare them, I'll be able to pick out favorite writers.
