Bike Ride #5
A bunch of files disappeared from our shared drive at work on Friday. Between Friday & today, I've done all of the things I can do without them, so I ended up leaving work early. [Computer support people are restoring them, they're just not done yet.]
My bus stop at the end of the day is right where the B-Cycle station is.
I pondered going home first, but did not! This means it was my first bike ride without a helmet, :O
Anyway, I got on & biked to the station at the other end of the neighborhood, and walked to my local hardware store.
I wish I was able to park the bike a little closer, but meh.
I feel like this end of the neighborhood is more available to my now. Walking there is annoying, but going there & back often hurts my back (especially if I purchase something). So now I'm closer to things like the thrift store & some pricey boutiques I'll probably never go in, but also random shit like the printing collective & the clock repair shop.
At the hardware store, I bought two plants (thyme & cucumber).
I checked them out a bit, too - they have all kinds of pots & planters & etc. As my plants hopefully grow, I'll probably go back. Already planning for a watering can :O
I didn't want to go home right away, so I biked to the river first, then turned around and came home.
I like the feeling of going a little further "just 'cause," without worrying about wasting gas or causing back pain.
I didn't go very far, but I still feel pretty wiped.

That hardware store used to be an absolute Tardis of Stuff, and the counter workers Knew just what I needed. I hope it is still that way.
Plants in your handlebar basket = true east sider.
