Tari Tari [complete]
I wrote a little about Tari Tari when I started watching it.
I finished the 13th & last episode this morning, and it's just awesome. The series has been licensed in the US, and I hope they release it on DVD. I feel like this could be a huge source of comfort to me, through rewatches.
The basic premise is that 5 kids form a Choir Club at their high school. The established music club won't work for them, for various reasons, so that's why they have to make their own.
The future of their club is repeatedly threatened. I didn't find these storylines farfetched, but I'm used to Sue Sylvester of Glee, so ymmv.
At its heart...every character has a reason to be down, to withdraw from their friends, at different times. One character's focus episodes include the other characters referring to her as "depressed." My heart ached for just about everyone.
I supposed the boy characters were a little underdeveloped, but I liked the three girls so much (& the boys were unoffensive) that I didn't mind.
In their last performance, they perform a song as a part of a play.
Although they're in character, they talk about losing family/friends, dreams/pride, etc.
They talk about being lost in the dark, but being able to show each other how to move forward. And even if they won't make a miracle happen, they can put their feelings into music "and then start walking again."
My heart is full after watching this show!
And for the first time in a long time, I actually feel like writing again.

It is heavier than K-ON! (And the music is not as gr9)
It also looks like I have a few 48-hour Crunchyroll passes. Obviously you wouldn't watch the whole series in 48 hours (or maybe you would!), but if you want any for ease-of-viewing, let me know that too.
