OMG, 2 updates in 2 days!
Yes, that's right, I have something to put in here again. This is another...piece of my story. You'll remember that a couple days ago, I put up a sketch thinger of Lanif. And there will be one of Timria that comes before Lanif's that I already wrote, in which she first has the creepy dream. I think once I get this stuff figured out, I'll tear down the old version of the story and put up the new one. I wonder if everyone is this...schizophrenic...when they write a story. I have ideas all over the place, I keep rewriting the beginning, and I still don't have a damn plot. Anyway. I will LJ-cut this one, partly because it's not that important, just sets up other scenes, and also because I'm afraid of being considered....a spammer. So hopefully I remembered the code.
The legs of her desk were uneven. Timria shifted her weight ever so slightly back and forth, trying to keep her mind occupied to pass the time. Left. Right. Left. Right. She was keeping notes, as the teacher was exlaining a project. The students were going to be put into pairs, and each pair had to read a play on their own and present the themes to the class. Timria oscillated back and forth as the teacher assigned pairs to plays until she heard her own name.
"Timria Cyrim....Lanif Garrow...You're reading Hamlet." Timria felt her hopes drop, but made sure she didn't show any emotion. She was certain that she would end up doing all the work while putting up with Lanif's pompous crap whenever they had classtime to work together. He was just like his arrogant friends.
Naturally Timria was surprised when Lanif pulled a desk up next to hers and asked when she wanted to meet to work on the project.
"You...want to work together?" Lanif rolled his eyes and smiled.
"Well yeah. You didn't expect me to let you do all the work, did you?" Timria hesitated.
"Well...yeah." She glanced at Lanif to make sure he wasn't making fun of her and realized he was studying her as well.
"Why would you think that?"
"We can go to my house tomorrow." They had spoken at the same time. Timria repeated herself so she wouldn't have to answer Lanif's question.
"Sure, tomorrow's fine," he said. "Is 1:00 okay?"
"Yes." The bell rang and students started packing up and leaving.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Timria." He smiled at her.
She couldn't think of anything to say. So she smiled back.
Newsies has some quality music.
