I actually have a semi-current game console!

Following the assumption that Dreamwidth knows all, anyone have recs for games for the PSP? I have enough video games to last me for like, three years BUT WHAT IF I BEAT THEM ALL?!

I'm already playing Crisis Core (obviously!), have Tactics and a sweet Joan of Arc + zombies + cool cover art game. I'm interested in the Dissidias, although I'd listen to feedback on them!


I like epic RPGs, but am open to cute/mindless games, too.

From what I understand, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is pretty wonderful. I played the original version on my PS1 and it was fabulous, but the PSP port adds a bunch of extra content, some new characters and classes, and voice acted cutscenes.

Personally, FFT is one of my favorites in the series, and it has a really cool plot and cool characters, and is so much fun to play. :)


Apparently Dissidia 012 is really good too, but I can't speak to that as much. I don't have a PSP, yet.

Sweeeeet! I loved FFT on the PlayStation, I actually bought the game a few months ago before I even had a PSP because I found it new for $10. SO EXCITE, but my eagerness to play Crisis Core won out because I've been reading so much FF7 fanfiction lately. It's been forever since I played Tactics, though, so I'm pretty pumped. I think that the Jeanne D'Arc game I bought has its battle system based off of Tactics' ?!
And then maybe I should try to beat Dirge even though I suck at first-person shooters?! Seriously, taking Vincent and making it a FPS game makes sense, except for all of the Vincent fans out there who play RPGs b/c they suck at FPS, bwahahaha.

Dirge is actually pretty entertaining, even if it doesn't make a lot of sense. XD But yeah. The controls are pretty fail. I was lucky - I made my best friend play and I just watched.

012 is the one with Tifa and Lightning and Laguna, yeah. And from what I understand, the first game is included in it...? Might need to do a little research on that but, yeah.


Heh, I'm playing through VI right now, then gonna hit up V, IX, and Portal.

And then XIII-2 comes out in late January... so... That'll have to be played. XD

I need FPS friend!
LAGUNA. I think he was my favorite VIII character, but I didn't like VIII nearly as much as the other games.
I didn't know that about 012! I'm glad I didn't just buy them last night sight unseen, now I know to check that shit out.

OMF, I love IX, have you not played it all yet? I think it's just FUN, the first few hours of the game especially are really fun.

It'll be years before I play the first XIII, although I'm glad the PS3 has come way down in price since initially coming out.

I've played.... Most of the way through the third disc, but, for some reason (I think it was Garnet's lack of concentration...?) I stopped playing and never picked it up again. I really love it, so I think I just need to restart it though.

If you ever get the opportunity, I'd recommend XIII. I know a lot of people don't like it, but it somehow managed to become one of my favorites, so. Yes, recommended. :) (But, oh, I hear ya on the glad the price came down, egads.)
