URGENT

Has anybody else read spoilers for the end of Bunny Drop? If so, please come under the cut-tag.
(For people who don't read, I've also given a brief plot synopsis if you'd like to come read and don't care about spoilers.)

Premise of series: Daikichi's grandfather dies, and at his funeral, it's apparent that his grandfather had a 7-year-old love child who now has no one to live with. Nobody knows who her mother is. Daikichi takes her into his home and becomes his guardian. It's pretty touching; he gives up a promotion at work so he can still pick her up from daycare, etc. The little girl's name is Rin.

Apparently, halfway through the series, there's a jump-forward with Rin in adolesence, blah-blah.
APPARENTLY AT THE VERY END, RIN SAYS SHE IS IN LOVE WITH DAIKICHI AND THEY DECIDE TO GET MARRIED.

UGH, UGH, UGH, UGH. OMG. UGH.

I love Zac Bertschy's synopsis of the first episode of the new anime adaptation over at ANN, though:
Watching this show is like petting an adorable fluffy warm little kitten that's purring and falling asleep on your lap who you know is going to grow up into one of those cats that vomits all over everything and pees in the bed.

ETA: It's almost funny, in retrospect? It starts off SO WELL. This series was nominated for an Eisner Award this year! I guess at least everyone's collective horrified revelation will be entertaining.
