Game of Thrones: I should have an icon?

Reading around on the Internet, I've stumbled across the theory that Jon Snow = son of Lyanna and Rhaegar. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE.

Also, favorite characters for the record:
Arya, Catelyn, Brienne, Jaime

I would also already like to reread the books because I am one of those who TOTALLY MISSED Loras/Renly while reading.

I haven't even read Feast for Crows yet, and I already want to reread Game of Thrones.

I've always prefered Jon and Lyanna and Robert's son. But that may just be because I'm tired of heroes who are the product of rape. (But Jon is basically a King Arthur figure, so it's probably Rhaegar.)

It took me a bit to catch onto Loras/Renly myself.

Jon being Rhaegar's son doesn't necessarily mean he's a product of rape.

I don't think I caught up on Loras/Renly on my own either - though i read about it before reading ASOS at least.

I kind of...don't know if Lyanna in love with and willingly with Rhaegar fits the way Martin seems tio want us to see non-Danaerys Targaryens at all? I kind of don't think Robert's genetics being on the throne for generations would be a great idea (i'm one of those that thinks Danaerys/Jon is part of the endgame), but I also think Martin has a way more generous view of Robert than me. (Though not as idealized as Ned's.) I've actually always figured we'd end up with something like "Ned though Jon was Lyanna and Rhaegar's kid but actually Robert took it really badly when Lyanna ditched him..."

It's actually possible/probable that I have all sorts of ENTIRELY conflicting thoughts simply because fiction pretty consistently burns me re: consent when it comes to the parentage of young men who start out not knowing, and I no longer have any faith in anyone on this front. Butcher'as Codex Alera is actually the only exception off the top of my head, though I'm sure there are others. (For whatever reason, Destined Heroines and such are way less likely to be the product of rape. Yet another reason to prefer them.)

Actually I think we have several mentions of Rhaegar not being the kind of man likely to be a rapist. Robert seems to have been the only one to be utterly convinced it was rape.

Heh, that'd be a fun subversion.

Heh, that makes sense.
