Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

This was not one of my favorite books; I think my favorite might still be book 5, aside from 7. I've only read 7 once, though, so many re-readings are required.

In this movie, Draco hung around and was emo all over the place, just like he was in the book.
My annoyance by this was about the same level as reading it.

While irritated by the romantic sub-plots in the book, they were much more adorable to watch in the movie. This movie did make me laugh a lot.

I can't imagine grasping all of the fine little plot-points without having read the books....honestly, I can't figure out how I would know WTF was going on unless I read them, and I feel kind of bad for people who don't read them.

What annoyed me the most was the removal of the huge roof-top fight at the end. Like, WTF I want to watch the DA/Order fighting the Death Eaters, HELLO!!

Oh, well.

Like most of the Harry Potter movies, it was pleasant enough to watch, but I vastly prefer the books.

I hated the 6th book, so I considered the movie a nice improvement!

They sort of had to keep Malfoy in there, right? Actually, my feeling with him in the book was that at the end they just went, "oh, by the way, remember Malfoy? This is what he's been up to all year," which I thought was poorly played. In the movie they kind of kept up with him, which was nice.

Book 5 was my other least favorite book, though, so we might simply have different tastes all around.

Yeah, I think that's what I disliked about Book 6 - it was poorly thought-out. When we were watching the movie and it was the end and Snape was all like, "I'm the Half-Blood Prince!" and I was wondering whether or not the movie was going to explain WHAT "HALF-BLOOD PRINCE" MEANT, Antoine leaned over and was like, "I always hated the plot device of that book....it was so stupid, and irrelevant to everything else." SO TRUE.

I'm pretty shameless in my love for book 5.....IT'S ALL FOR THE EMO.

I liked the movie too. I was actually okay with the lack of a battle because the show flowed pretty well without it. Hilarity abounds and there were pretty stuff but MOAR LUNA MOAR TWINS and um...lost my train of thought.

My favorite of the books is Chamber of Secrets!!! I'm like the only person on the planet who likes it best tho. Can't figure out why, it was brilliant!
