So, this scene might not make much sense yet...for one thing, it has some random things inserted into it that won't make sense even in context with the story...and for another thing, it's out of context because I haven't posted story bits in a long time - mostly because I haven't written any. Once summer comes and I have time, I really want to put up the story so far on my website in the library so that people have somewhere to go to read it. I know I posted everything I have so far on one of these entries a while ago....Anyway, this scene takes place a little while after the first scene, where Timria and Lanif start to get close. There are things that happen between the beginning scenes I've already written and the one you're (possibly) about to read. I don't know who the man on the ground is, other than that he's a soldier. He's evil! (Yes, and my lack of plot shines through!)

Timria winced, hearing the gunshots. She tightened her grip on Lanif's hand as he cautiously stepped forward to peer around the corner. They saw a policeman holster his gun and then prod a uniformed man lying on the ground. The dead man was clad in black, and blood was pooling out from underneath him. Lanif halted, not wanting to attract the policeman's attention to himself or Timria. They watched as the policeman entered the building. Before either of them could step forward to investigate the scene, however, a figure clad in white robes stepped out from a corner on the far end of the yard. Lanif held Timria back, waiting to see what would happen. The woman in white was beautiful. She walked gracefully, with her long blonde hair flowing down her back and curling slightly at the ends. Around her neck was a green pendant on a black cord. Despite her beauty, she didn't look happy - in fact, she looked deeply saddened for reasons known only to herself.

She halted in front of the bleeding man and knelt. She pressed the palms of her hands against the wound in his chest and closed her eyes. Timria's eyes widened as she saw a vibrant white light emitting from the woman's hands. The man who had been bleeding stirred after a few moments. The woman drew back and her light quickly faded. The man sat up, and drew a gun from inside his jacket. Lanif drew in his breath sharply, but the man set the gun down on the pavement. He bowed to the woman and walked away.

Lanif was deeply intrigued by the man's behavior, and he slowly approached the woman. Timria followed him uneasily, still holding his hand.

I know, it's not that long. But....it's something!
