It's that "gotcha" journalism again....
Earlier today, a meme was going around on my LJ friends list, where people posted their favorite Supreme Court case, because Sarah Palin was unable to name a single one in an interview.
Guys? She can't even name a newspaper. Wasn't Sarah Palin a journalism major?
The only explanation I can come up with for this is that she couldn't remember which ones had liberal biases, or somehow thought it was a trick question. Surely, she must be able to name newspapers, right? RIGHT?
I know that some people think Katie Couric is being a total bitch in these interviews, but I really don't understand how you couldn't be. When she gives a heinous answer, how can you NOT ask the immediate follow-up to make her look like an idiot?
I feel like, if nothing else, all English majors in America should vote against Sarah Palin.
I keep wondering if I'm watching a horrible sci-fi movie, but Sarah Palin is real.
You can watch her entire interview about social issues here (the second video). Probably my "favorite" part is where says that homosexuality is a choice.
Get ready for Thursday's debate. It will be nothing short of magical, I'm sure.

I'm not going to solely blame all of man's activities on changes in climate.

I used to hate Katie Couric, but thank god she is asking relatively simple questions like... "could you be more specific..."

The only reasonable explanation I can come up with from a political tactic standpoint is that they told her to play up the "reporters are out to get me" angle and so instead of answering questions she turns them into the "Just cause I'm from Alaska doesn't mean I can't read good" type responses. It seems to be working too, as her supporters instead of realizing she's an idiot, complain that the reporters are being "too gosh darn mean".
It's painful to watch her answer a question though. She starts out kind of strong, not really saying anything, but at least confident in her answer, but then she rambles on and on and then looks like she loses her train of thought and doesn't know how to end so that by the end I have no idea what she's saying.

And seriously, hi, ONE SINGLE NEWSPAPER? I mean, she could have sucked up and said "The CBS News", it didn't matter! The questions feel like they're getting simpler and simpler, it's like Celebrity Jeopardy questions from Saturday Night Live, now.

Excuse me, I'm going to go curl up in my closet and CRY.

There is no such thing as "too mean" with the press and politics, especially because we all know the press sways things to create drama. I can't believe people don't see this. How does ANYONE side with her? At this point, even the pro-lifers should be sighing and saying "omfg n00b."
I mean, I've never been a governor and I can't see Russia from my house, but shit! Even I could spout out the only Supreme Court case I know by name and then make up why it's my favorite without actually giving an opinion on it or it's ruling. Any fool can prattle off about how it "illustrates the diversity of this fine country and the majestic nature of judicial power blahblahblah."
I could be wrong, but I feel like even G.W. Bush played down his bible-thumping in comparison to this woman. That kind of blatant and indelicate (I feel like she's playing it up, not even trying to obscure it) anti-gay sentiment has no place in our government. I can only hope that people have made great strides in the last few years in distinguishing the difference between a "good" leader and a "religious" leader. Those words are not synonyms, they're not even correlated!

Some pro-lifers have been saying it all along! (*cough* ME *cough*)
