I'll second the recommendations of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (which I've been reading as manga) and Code Geass (which I've been watching weekly on Cartoon Network). The latter tries to target both girl and boy audiences to often hilarious results, I think. It's delightfully ridiculous.
