I hope you get a new pillow to cry into......shit.

I was able to watch Heroes last night with [livejournal.com profile] sasha_feather last night - counting it as my brief respite after handing in my Women's Studies paper. I am utterly screwed for my genocide paper. Prayers are accepted!

The sidewalks and some roads are just complete death traps. I wish cars would slow down, and pedestrians would not be so stupid. People! Brakes sometimes do not work on ice, no matter how slowly the vehicle is moving to begin with! It's supposed to snow even more tonight, although that might be a good thing. At least snow gives you traction when you're walking or driving, :/

I need things to look forward to in order to finish my genocide paper. I have long lists of "to read/watch" for manga and TV/anime (yes, I know I am sad). I should read some novels, too...I have a lot that I haven't read yet. Sometimes I feel a tad out of place with the Wiscon crowd because I rarely read fantasy.

So, if you have any recs, let me know. There are lots of random things that I've been meaning to read for a while, so don't be offended if I don't read it right away, buuuut yeah. Also, for me at least, writing style > world-building/premise, by 1,000,000.

If it helps, I do keep a log of things I read, although I haven't updated it lately. If you're my friend on Facebook, more updated stuff is there on the Books application (mostly manga, :x)

We already got an inch and a half of snow here (it started at about 8 this morning.) and it is still going strong so you should be getting a good dose tonight...

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same, although since I'm English/Political Science, my "textbooks" are novels, poetry, and non-fiction books/articles. But I also get in some manga. Comics are so nice to read on the bus! You get interrupted, but it's easy to re-find your place. Although, I tend to be selective about what comics can be opened on the bus.....erupting rib cages and nudity (however tasteful) are not okay!

Yes, the dose was quite healthy. We just shoveled 4-5 inches, and it's still snowing, :( Too bad we have class in the morning! The sidewalk's at least clear of half of it, so hopefully we won't get ticketed.

I used the snow as an excuse to skip class, but for good reason... I have a two year old and live over an hour away from the school... I did not want to put her in the car and drive with her on roads that were in such horrible shape for that long and risk something happening...

So no Grandma time for squirt and no class time for me... :) I made the best of it by drawing all night.

I don't read much fantasy, but I recommend Naomi Kritzer's books. I only started reading her cuz I know her, but for fantasy they are really good. She's a wiscon person, too.

I only started reading fantasy in the last few years. Before that I was SciFi all the Way!! But then I opened up my mind and found some really, really excellent books! So, having had one good experience with a new genre, I then made my way to comics and manga. :)

Anyway, see my Ulitmate Reading Rec List (http://sasha-feather.livejournal.com/102483.html) if you're interested!
