Wishlist

//Last Updated: 4/17/2014//

I found this on [personal profile] littlebutfierce's blog; it was originally done over at [personal profile] dingsi's. I'm posting a permanent wishlist. These two rules are from [personal profile] dingsi

1. It is okay to want nice things. Post your wishlist! You don't have to be/do something special to "deserve" one! Just accept that sometimes people want to give you nice things! Because it makes them feel good, and/or they think you are rocksauce, or: because!

2. It is okay to not give someone what they want. People can be broke, out of energy, too busy, or simply go "eh, I'm not feeling particularly close to this person" and shrug and scroll past. Doesn't make them bad.

If you have a similar list, you could link to it in the comments? :O

Stuff I Could Always Appreciate
♥ Graph paper booklets. I love to write on graph paper - actual fic, original stuff (haven't done that in years, heh), outlines of either, sketches, etc. Given the choice, I like eighth-of-an-inch best. I like to keep a booklet stashed in my purse, so something smallish is optimal.

These are adorable! Almost too large, but their cuteness makes up for it. PLUS I started reading the W.I.T.C.H. comics because someone gave me these.

These are more of the ideal size; the one on the right is what I'm using right now for A Song is a Weapon.

♥ Smaller post-its or pads of paper that are adorable.

♥ iTunes gift cards - I have a habit of buying Glee covers I like, and playing them constantly to keep me sane, keep me writing. I do occasionally buy other music on iTunes, too! (But I also really like buying physical CDs, still, partly b/c I can buy them at the local music store.)

♥ Recipes that adhere to my restricted diet. (Please no hard feelings if I can't try your recipe for some reason, & no guilt on your part if the recipe makes me ill!)

Things I cannot have:
-Chocolate [carob chocolate is okay as a substitute]
-Mint
-Caffeine of all amounts, this includes decaf coffee
-Carbonated beverages
-Citrus, citric acid, asorbic acid
-Milk, sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, a few other "real" cheeses
-Fried food, particularly greasy food (lo mein, fried eggs)
-Tomatoes, prepared in any fashion
-Raw onions, garlic, shallots, scallions
-Raw/undercooked meats
-Red meat, even if it's well-done (i.e., hamburgers, steaks, etc.)
-Most raw vegetables, especially broccoli, cauliflower
-Spicy food
-Certain spices, regardless of "spiciness," i.e., lots of pepper, any amount of curry, cardamom/etc.

♥ Fanmix recommendations. I listen to music at work almost constantly because I can't concentrate without it. On tough and/or boring days, it helps me get through, too.
I seem to be really, really drawn to Game of Thrones fanmixes, but I'll try them in just about any fandom.

♥ FF7 & Sailor Moon fanfic recs, especially of the epic length. AUs are cool.

♥ Dreamwidth points (to be spent on additional icon slots!)

One-and-Done Stuff
♥ Download links for subtitled/scanlations anime of Ai Yazawa's Gokinjo Monogatari, anime or manga version. I have the first 14 episodes, but then my source went away due to the shutdowns on Megaupload. This is one of those series that isn't available in the U.S.! I <3 the characters, though, and I want to know what happens :/

Limited Edition of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on DVD. Please note the Limited Edition! (I already have the normal one.) FF7 is the fandom of my heart, my "first fandom" in many senses of the word. This director's cut has the plot make way more sense by adding 30 more minutes of plot (OMG it needed it). There's also a retrospective of the video game, which would allow me to curl up & relive it without having to take 60 hours to replay it each time.
It also includes the Last Order OVA, which hasn't been released in the US in any other format. (It's basically an animation of the Nibelheim flashback, so it's mostly awesome.)

A DVD of the Ghibli movie "Castle in the Sky," preferably this version.

a copy of Persona 4 for the PS2

This FF7-inspired linked pendant. Combo colors of green & blue, please. (Most of the color combos available there don't make sense! Obviously you would want a magic materia linked with a support materia.) ty [personal profile] littlebutfierce :*)

♥ a DVD of the Kamikaze Girls movie

♥ I maintain a list of favorite items on Etsy.

I will keep this list up to date! I'll remove things when I get them or decide I don't need them; I'll add things when I think of them. There will be a link to this post from the sticky post.

Gokinjo manga

Do you only want download links or is read-online okay, too? It looks like some sites have taken Gokinjo down as it has been licensed (but who knows when or if it will actually be professionally released in English), but this site still has it up.

The scanlation group who did it appears to no longer be active and their website is gone, but it looks like other places have mirrored it for download as well. Here is a torrent, if you use Bit Torrent. This site has it for download, but the chapters are all up individually and that's 33 chapters, so kind of a pain. The links are working, though; I checked. I also found this post with it uploaded by volume, and six of the seven links still work, so you could download those and then just get the chapters from vol. 3 from the chapter downloads.

I love making food suggestions, and you're a challenge since most of what I *can* eat, you can't. But I have a couple ideas. No worries if they don't work for you!

I can't find the FB post now, but one of my friends did leftover turkey dinner in a way that sounded good (but not safe for me). She cubed it and mixed it with some leftover stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, chopped and lightly sauteed kale, and possibly grains? all tossed together into a salad sort of thing. I don't recall if she dressed it or not; if this sounds like something you'd like, LMK and I'll try to find the right person and scroll back a few days.

I like making faux souffles. (I think real oens have flour and butter).

One large or 2 regular servings:

Heat oven to 350. I've used large custard cups for this, set in a casserole dish. Boil a large teakettle of water (enough to pour into the casserole around the custard cups).

Make a small amount of raspberry curd: puree and seed raspberries, sweeten to taste, cook with an egg yolk like for lemon curd (very low heat or in a double boiler, stirring until it t hickens. Add a spoonful of raw coconut oil and a pinch of salt and stir until it's homogenous. Remove from heat).

Beat egg white until it starts to foam up,then add 2 tbls sugar, slowly, and beat until firm peaks form.

Add the puree/curd stuff and fold gently together. It's fine if there are streaks. Spoon into the custard cups. Bake until set (it depends on the size of the cups and the oven. I poke one after about 20 minutes if it's browning nicely. If the skewer comes out clean it's done).

If you have actual, proper farm fresh eggs and feel comfortable eating raw egg whites, beating the whites before you make the curd, then mixing the hot curd into the beaten whites and letting it cool makes a lovely treat, too.

Any fruit puree you love works.
