shadow dance

So I wrote this poem earlier but LJ decided to be a whore and froze up. So I think I rewrote it to just about its original state. I'm at college now, at UW-Madison, for those of you who don't know me that well. I start classes on Thursday.....more than a little scared. Anyway here it is.

i continue my mad dance.
my illuminated outline
stomping, whirling,
stepping only the spots
lit up by streams of light.
don’t fall,
don’t lose the beat,
don't let the darkness catch you
don't fall
don't lose the beat
don't lose the beat
and in my dance
i lose myself in song
swelling, wonderful music.
the darkness lightens to shades of gray
and I think my shadow
has grown wings of former darkness
