SO. I branched out. Where should I start?!

Ohhhh my gosh, the fact that there are kramas on here FILLS ME WITH ENDLESS DELIGHT -- except, uhhh, I'm not sure how well these would suit your tastes. Boys Over Flowers was actually the first kdrama I ever watched and thus holds an incredibly special place in my heart; but it's also jam-packed with all of the most truly heinous drama cliches everrrr and is guaranteed to make you want to eat your fist in frustration. My Name is Kim Sam Soon is a hailed classic all around the internet but it is one of the few dramas that I honestly could not bring myself to finish because I disliked the lead guy that much UGGGHHHHH.

For you, I would recommend checking out City Hunter (same lead as Boys Over Flowers, Lee Min Ho, but with decidedly less face palming). It's an action packed revenge thriller romance OF COMPLETE AND UTTER PERFECTION. I think it's all on Hulu, too!

Yeah, it's the first time that the library in my parents' town had like, at least 10 k-dramas mixed in with all the anime!
I have seen about half of the Boys Over Flowers j-drama, and have been warned about the k-drama being a bit more...intense?
If I hate it, I can always post about in caps lock, hohoho.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what would be the best adjective to describe BOF... I'm hesitant to use the word "intense" about any show where the male lead sports a giant permed bouffant, but it is very... over-the-top, I guess, and WE WILL USE *ALL* THE DRAMA CLICHES!! In that sense maybe it is a good introduction to kdramas because it just dumps every aspect of the drama into one huge SUPER MELODRAMATIC pile. I'm not sure how similar it is to Hana Yori Dango... Anyway, I watched BOF a while after it aired so I wasn't involved in fandom at all, but from what I gather most people were into the first half but then hated the second half (there is a time skip in the middle, and then the drama got an extension as well so the end is drawn out a bit). Actually, I... kind of liked the second half?? It veered off a bit, but it was sort of interesting!

OMG OMG CITY HUNTER OMGGGG. I fell off on doing my kdrama recaps on facebook, mostly because I couldn't put into words how insanely good this show was and it feels like a failure to write any review that fails to live up to its greatness.
