an experiment in haiku

If you're reading this and you actually know stuff about haikus, then I apologize. Because I really don't. All I remember is that the syllables go 5-7-5, and I know there are other things to know, but I'm....lazy. And I wrote it in bed last night around 11:00. It's a new semester in my school, and thus a new class of College Credit English. Now instead of writing thesis papers about tragedies, we're learning about poetry. So maybe I'll write some structured stuff? Thus far everything I've written has been free verse. But, anyway, here is my haiku, which I have dubbed:

"Autumn"

Dry, red, falling leaf.
Summer has gone, your use fades;
you let go, and plunge.
