PSA

Now that Ponyo has been released on DVD here in the US, Disney has re-released My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky, all on 2-disc special edition DVDs. The latter three have been out of print for a couple of years, I think.

They should be available most places; I scored My Neighbor Totoro last night at Target, and it was very difficult not to grab Kiki's Delivery Service and Ponyo all at once.

ETA: If you were planning on buying Ponyo, Amazon has a Studio Ghibli movie running from now until June 2. I recommend everything listed except for The Cat Returns, which wasn't very good.

Do these new editions also have Japanese language tracks? My copy of Totoro is an older one with just the English dub. :/ (I think my copy of Kiki's has Japanese? I could get up and go look, but I am LAZY.)

Yes, the Japanese language tracks are available.

The My Neighbor Totoro dub on the discs is the more recent one with Dakota Fanning and her younger sister, which I thought was pretty good.

Oh, cool. Time to replace mine, then. The one we have is the older dub and it's really not good, but it's sufficient for my best friends' 3-yr-old son (who loves Totoro & Kiki both).
