You could just scrub them w/a brush under the sink; there's no need to peel them (& we get carrots from our CSA w/clumps of dirt on them--I've never crunched on any dirt).

I think I remember reading somewhere that lots of vitamins etc. are in the skin of vegetables, so it seems a shame to peel them when you don't have to (ie. assuming farmer's market carrots are not as laden w/pesticides as ones from big agribusiness). Plus, laziness, hi.
