The protagonist is the most stuck-up Mary Sue I've ever met in fiction (I've met worse IRL)
WHY DID I START READING P.C. AND KRISTIN CAST'S HOUSE OF NIGHT NOVELS?!
Did someone tell me that they were good? Did I read somewhere that they were good? Is it just because the spines face the register at the bookstore? WHO DID THIS TO ME?
I've been mentally composing a Post of Fail for book one for the past three days, but....I WILL PROBABLY KEEP READING IT IF ONLY SO THAT I DON'T PROGRESS AND READ ECLIPSE AND BREAKING DAWN INSTEAD.

MY ONLY HOPE is that the point of the series is that the protagonist because less of a self-centered jerk as time goes on, as character growth. WE WILL SEE.

I feel you should satisfy your cheesy teen vampire romance needs with Vampire Diaries instead. Just have alcohol available for the first few episodes, and ignore the stupid opening monologue.
